Editor’s Comment: Regardless of the very soft news day, visuals always come into contention when presenting any story. The netted foreground added a layered feel to the picture, enhancing its aesthetics. The picture’s composition leads the reader’s eye to its lower third, and in doing so, communicates the immense amount of work the subject had to cover. That said, I wonder if the photographer could have shifted a little more to his right, framed the worker away from the darker tones of the building and leftwards against the back light. In terms of what was available, this picture worked for me in a general news context.
