Underground calls: While all MRT stations are equipped with local payphones, payphones that are situated within the underground tunnel itself are a rarer scene along the MRT track.

Photographer’s Notes: I had walked past this scene many times on my way home, but never really noticed the phones that were in place. With the prevalence of mobile phones, these payphones made up an odd scene, especially since they were situated next to the train tunnels. Would anyone bother using the payphones while waiting for the trains?

  1. I like how this photo does a mirror image sort of effect. To me it’s sort of saying that communication today has become too impersonal and too distant.
