making the shutter count

a roundtable for 6 photography students

Despite the geek-sounding blog address, this is not really a Maths forum. But we cannot come up with anything else and it is nearing lunchtime.

Every day, six photojournalism students from Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information will post their picture of the day. Every night, one self-assigned editor will choose THE picture of the day.

Of course, we take this class exercise very seriously. Anyone who types a one-liner as caption will be given the “special treatment” during class. Anyone who cannot meet the deadline will be dead. “It is not the Advanced Photojournalism course for nothing!” says the professor who confesses that he needs to work us hard to make himself look good.

At the end of it, we all hope to become better photojournalists. And have fun. Who knows, maybe we can even produce that calendar that Rachel wants to publish so much!

Along the way, everyone and every feedback is welcome to help us grow. Let’s keep this informal, shall we?

Yours sincerely,
Triggernometrists (trust us, we hate that word too)

  2. Hello Triggernometrists!

It’s a great idea to set up this website! And some of the shots are pretty inspiring. Just a suggestion though: Instead of just having a picture of the day where only good comments are written why not critique on the others? I’m sure as a photographer I would want to know what others think of my photo and how I can improve on it. Afterall, constructive criticisms help one to improve more than good comments.

    Cheers,
    Yi Wen

PS: Sam, Alex and Weeee, load-shedding still sucks alot here…
