050309 – Picture of the day
Editor’s comments: Weiyang’s photo is the winner today with his picture of the theme – Flow. It stands out from the rest because it lends a sense of fun and playfulness into the scene. Comparing it to Kangli’s and Adeline’s, they were more abstract representations of the theme and did not connect with me. The head-on approach, compared to the actions amid the fountain in Weiyang’s scene led me to put it up as the photo of the day.

Editor’s comments: Rachel’s photo stood out because of its clarity and completeness. While it was yet another weather photo, it showed a different facet, with a focus on people’s reactions to it. The empty road brought the focal point to the lady with her umbrella. At first glance, it seemed as though she was kiasu and wanted double protection from the rain. But on reading the caption that she was protecting herself from a leaky bus shelter, it added a new dimension to the photo and enhanced my understanding of the situation.
