160209 – Picture of the day
Editor’s Comment: The colour in Adeline’s picture exudes vibrancy. Clear Blue sky with specks of black. A spot of green drawing attention to the front. The line leading up o the sky. There is a thoughtful use of scale to show the relative size of elements in the fore and back ground. The visual of a ‘flying doll’ is unique and unusual in a heartland environment.
Kevin’s one is a great example of using scale to create visual interest. Lone man against a big machine. There was nothing wrong with Kevin’s entry. It was just Adeline having a little more unusual subjects or activity that was happening. That being said, Kevin’s does remind me of scenes of overflooded river banks, which if true, would have gotten high marks for news value.
