160309 – Picture of the day
Editor’s comments: A mannequin raises her arms in surrender, while men sit idly by around her. I like this intriguing photo by Rachel as it was something that had aesthetic value as well as a sense of rythm and place. The blue chairs, coupled with the slight downcast processing and the austerity of the environment all added to the poignancy of the shot.
Although others had ideas, I felt that Adeline’s and Kevin’s lacked freshness as I’ve seen similar photos of that before, although I must congratulate them if it’s showing signs of becoming a series. Kangli’s one, while giving me a sense of place, is a more conceptual and quiet photo than what he would have normally shot.
