280109 – Picture of the day
Editor’s Notes: The photograph by Wei Yang is quirky and at the same time, timely. It captures a very interesting slice of life that we don’t normally witness. It reminds me of the Buangkok white elephants. The framing is deliberate, showing only what needs to be shown, yet concealing what is necessary to retain some mystery. The colours are vibrant. It made me curious, it shows Wei Yang being curious, and the all-seeing single eye just personifies this whole notion of “curiosity”. It is a simple picture, but so much meaning can possibly be derived from it. For example, to push it a bit, “financial assets under scrutiny”? “Sacred Cows for slaughter”? Many possibilities. Very interesting.
